PARTS ARE EXTRA
PARTS ARE EXTRA is an art platform initiated by composer/performer Christina Campanella and filmmaker/visual artist Peter Norrman with which to investigate a cinematic vocabulary of sound and image via short form, experimental films. The 12 song-films will manifest as single channel film w/ live concert performance, multi-channel sound/video installation, and in distribution form (online, tablet, dvd). Each will have a different visual identity and narrative, working in juxtaposition to each other (content, form, rhythm, movement, material) but fitting together as a cycle. We draw from: ideas about decay, disappearing cities, uncharted personal journeys, stages of transition, the cracked fragility of the natural world, spaces of transition, identity/home, transience, urban vs natural, sound disturbance.
